Under the leadership of the arts campaign committee, Washington College has raised $9 million in private support for the new arts center; a $3 million grant from the State of Maryland and long-range financing are providing the remaining funds.
Key major benefactors will be recognized in the new center; they include Alonzo G. and Virginia G. Decker for whom the main proscenium theatre will be named, John G. and Nancy L. Underwood who will be honored in the dramatic glassed lobby, Benjamin G. and Judith C. Kohl whose names will go on the art gallery, Lawrence and Wendy Culp who will be recognized in the Drama Rehearsal Room, and the Seraph Foundation whose gift made possible the Music Rehearsal Room. Fundraising for the project is continuing with a special effort focusing on young alumni.
