Gibson Center for the Arts

The Kohl Gallery

With the opening of the Gibson Center for the Arts in Fall 2009, Washington College will unveil its first dedicated art gallery. The Kohl Art Gallery, funded by Washington College parents Benjamin and Judy Kohl, will be located on the first floor of the Gibson Center for the Arts, near the visitors' entrance. Visiting exhibitions, as well as student and faculty shows, will be on public display throughout the year.

As the College's first climate-controlled, securable space reserved solely for the exhibition of fine art, the gallery fills a long-standing void. 1,200-square-foot facility will be equipped with the environmental controls and security devices required to host significant traveling exhibitions.

Donald McColl, Underwood Professor of Art History, will serve as curator.
